Nye is the largest county in Nevada and the third largest in the country.
PAHRUMP IS LOCATED AT THE SOUTHERN MOST PORTION OF NYE COUNTY
Most of Nye county is controlled by the bureau of Land Management, a bureaucracy of the Federal Government which is supposedly responsible to manage and protect public lands.
How a sovergn states sovergn lands can be controlled by a federal agency is still a mystery to me and everyone else I have spoken with.
